Castle in Cuellar

Castle in Cuellar

Tuesday, 29 October – Drove to Cuellar and, of course, we saw another castle. I should mention at this point the schedule of the typical Spanish (and Italian, for that matter) day. Morning consists of everything from the time you get up until 1:30 or 2 pm. You can go and shop and sightsee during this time, but you can’t get a meal until 1:30 or 2. At that time, all the shops and attractions close down for lunch and siesta. Nothing reopens until 3 at the earliest, and some don’t reopen until 4 or 5. If you are not a morning person, and you like to be home before dark, this schedule tends to limit your possibilities for sightseeing. This castle was closed when we got there.
